The UV braai was designed and patented by Matthew Cox who runs a company Called MRC Weldingin Polokwane.  The concept of the UV Braai is to capture the suns UV rays and focus them on a small area to create heat to cook from.  Also the design was made to allow a lot of adjustment in how one could heat different pots and use different temperatures by adjusting the outer dishes and dropping the cooking surface down on a threaded bar.

The UV Braai allows you to cook at the same speed as a Gas Cooker but without the worry of running out of Gas. The only limiting factor for the UV Braai is if the Sun is shining.  but at night or on a Cloudy Day there is an attachment for a Woodburning or Charcoal metal tray to be fitted under the cooking grid.

The supports can all be disassembled within 5mins and packed away the 4x dishes into a bag or a blanket. And the supports can be flat-packed into a bag the size of a 5-man tent bag.   Each Parabolic Dish gives a temp approximately of 100 Degrees Celsius when you combine them the max Tempcan be 400 Degrees Celsius which would be too hot for doing most Cooking but is good for Boiling Water fast. But if you increase the size of the Focal point to the size of a golf ball then you can spread the heat out effectively across the cooking surface.
